After years of teasing and build-up, Gorillaz return with their first new song in six years.
Who Are The Gorillaz?
Titled “Hallelujah Money,” the stark, eerie, and airy cut features 2015 Mercury Prize recipient Benjamin Clementine and arrives just hours before Donald Trump’s inauguration to deliver, what the band describes as, “commentary on a politically-charged, historical moment.”
Backed by a visual, the Gorillaz & Giorgio Testi directed visual centers on Clementine, who sings in an elevator while projections of various animations (including virtual band member 2D) decorate the background.
Expect more from the band later this year.
