Raekwon is still “throwing darts with his integrity.” The always witty member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan celebrated his birthday this afternoon with an announcement. He’s gearing up to release a solo album.
The Chef posted his project’s cover artwork which is a illustration of a giant Raekown in an urban jungle, where buildings look like speakers. Fittingly, the timeless MC is holding a mic.
“Here you go YALL.,” Rae wrote. “My 7th masterpiece ….this LP is filled with alot of excitement ….blood sweat and tears. This project was designed for the culture of rap to know aint a dam thing change since the beginning of my career. The title is called ” THE WILD…! ” with all the shit thats goin on today ……this title rolled off my tongue like alkaline water in the bloodstream. I must say YALL GON LOVE THIS CLASSIC. !!! The Wild is set for a March 10 release date. Raekown hasn’t revealed collaborations on the album as of yet, but he does have a big birthday party in NYC tonight (January 12) where Rakim will host.
