Nick Gordon has been found “legally responsible” for the July 2015 death of Bobbi Kristina.

On Friday (September 16), a Georgia judge ruled that Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex-boyfriend was “legally responsible” for her death after failing to appear in court for the second time, according to her Brown estate lawyer R. David Ware in a press conference.

The news comes after the Brown estate filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against Gordon in August 2015, alleging that the only daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston died after a altercation with her boyfriend, who then put her in a bathtub and injected her with a “toxic cocktail” of drugs.

Autopsy results were revealed this past March, showing a slew of drugs were involved in Brown’s death, including alcohol (ethanol), marijuana, benzoylecgonine, benzodiazepines, and morphine.

In January 2015, Brown was found unconscious, facedown in a bathtub at her Roswell, Ga., townhouse and remained in a coma for six months. She died July 2015. Her passing shook the world, as the tragic tale mirrored her mother’s death in February 2012.

No criminal charges have been filed against Gordon.

A jury will determine the amount of damages to be awarded to Brown’s estate. The suit sought $50 million in damages.
