Mac Miller, “DANG!” Feat. Anderson. Paak
First thing’s first: This song is funky as hell. It’s a champagne life groove, all disco and horns, and basically, just not what you’d expect from Mac Miller. The soft crooning of Anderson.Paak infuses some honest-to god soul that you just can’t fight. If you like this mellow jam, sounds like we can expect more of this vibe on his upcoming album, The Divine Feminine.
Saba, “Symmetry
Saba released the lead single from his forthcoming project, Bucket List. Now, I’m not one who enjoys instrumentals having so many different and intricate parts to it but the Chicago artist made it work. In a way it’s kind of ironic that for a song that’s titled “Symmetry,” production-wise at certain parts there’s no evenness. But that’s what makes the song so interesting.—Erin Ashley Simon
Chevy Woods, “History” Feat. Devin Cruise
“Tonight gonna go down in history!” This is how you should feel every Friday when you are young. TGIF isn’t just a saying, it’s a feeling! And that same feeling is felt within Chevy’s latest single “History,” where he celebrates his own personal wins. I’ve been a fan of Chevy Woods for some time, and this is a nice taste of Chevy’s upcoming Taylor’d project.—E.A.S.
