Fresh off announcing his joint album, single and tour with Interpol’s Paul Banks, RZA is already onto a new project.
The rapper is collaborating with Atari on a new album, according to a Billboard. The original tracks will be inspired by and based on the company’s iconic video game sounds and music.
“I’m so excited to work on these iconic games to deliver what I believe will be one of my best albums. I am going to invite some of my friends to join me, and it will be game on with the first beat!,” RZA said.
RZA will spearhead production while Atari’s chief executive officer Fred Chesnais and Stephen Belafonte will serve as executive producers.
This is the second time the rapper and video game giant have joined forces. In 2006, he dubbed the voice-over for Atari’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure which follows a graffiti artist in a dystopic city.
