The momentum surrounding Desiigner’s hit single “Panda” isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Following the release of its official music video, Desiigner added a unique approach to his visual efforts. In the 88 Rising-made video, Desiigner performs “Panda” karaoke-style with additional elements such as Chinese captions, slang breakdowns (Montana = God of white powder) and crazy good graphics. This new, cheeky video places more of a emphasis on Asian culture than the song itself, possibly as means to enter a new market? Who knows. This music-culture crossover has effectively worked before in reverse with Keith Ape’s “It G MA” remix, featuring A$AP Ferg, Father, Dumbfounded and Waka Flocka Flame. Could Desiigner be on his way to international fame?
