Covering this month’s edition of Time Magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People,’ Nicki Minaj performed her rump-shaking anthem on Tuesday night (April 26) at the annual celebration event, dedicating it to none other than Donald Trump.
This follows Trump’s response at the event in New York when asked on the red carpet if he was a fan of Minaj, and the Republican front man replied that he thought she was “terrific.”
After performing “The Crying Game,” “Feeling Myself” and “Truffle Butter,” she took a moment to address and salute the “independent women” who “got your own money in the bank” and “don’t need a man to buy you a car or a house.”
Minaj added with great amusement, “I’m very political, and I would like to dedicate a song, just in the spirit of unity, to Joe Biden and Donald Trump.” Which happened to be the racy standout track “Anaconda.”
Nicki Minaj, who ranks among the top 100 influential people in the world alongside Kendrick Lamar, Adele, and Idris Elba, closed out the night by saying, “keep striving to the top, keep being the best you can be, and kick ass next year too.”
