More so than ever, music is reflective of the times. With a melting pot of artists echoing the greats and pioneers of premium production, the Swedish soulstress Snoh Aalegra, has secured her pocket of raspy blues vocals and funk-rock vibes.

A year removed from her There Will Be Sunshine EP, the singer/songwriter shifts her creative juices to her forthcoming project with the premiere of her latest ballad “Under The Influence.” Produced by frequent collaborator and in-house producer No I.D., who also worked with RZA for “Emotional” and Common for “Bad Things,” Snoh recalls making magic with both him and John Mayer for the belting record.

“Me and John Mayer met via a mutual connect, we were by the studio and he asked If I could play him my music,” she told Billboard. “When he heard “Under The Influence,” he asked if he could be a part of the track and of course, we made that happen. He ended up playing on the song and kept going for another two minutes. It sounded so good that there was no reason for me to edit it out. And that’s how Part II was born.”

As for the full project titled Don’t Explain, she explains, “This album is a passion project that is very dear to my heart. It’s been so inspiring to have complete creative control and to just have fun creating and collaborating with people I admire greatly. Each and every person who is involved in this mini album are beyond talented. All I can say is that I feel blessed.”

And from the sounds of “Under The Influence,” Snoh Aalegra is here to inspire with an element of tailored-live music and pinched sultry tunes.
