Barack Obama makes history as a habit. The 44th-elected president will be the first sitting president to appear as SXSW. He’ll be interviewed by Evan Smith (The Texas Tribune) about civic engagement in the 21st Century.

Not one to be outdone, Michelle Obama is also a trailblazer as the first first lady to appear at South By Southwest. FLOTUS will discuss the Let Girls Learn initiative, as a part of her ongoing dedication to young girls in this country. The event also doubles as a tribute for Women’s History Month.

The president is scheduled to appear March 11 (later in the evening he’ll join J.Cole at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser), while Michelle Obama will appear at the event on March 16th. For more information, visit www.sxsw.com.
