Apple Music is becoming more of a creative music label, and less of just a streaming service. Aside from exclusive album premieres and podcast radio shows, according to reports, Apple is now in the financing industry. Drake’s “Hotline Bling” didn’t just debut on Apple Music, it was funded by the tech giant as its first attempt at original video content.
The Director X-directed clip, which spawned countless memes and even a spot in the Super Bowl ads, was set for a larger plan to extend Apple Music’s platform. Also, to include the promotion for Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour Live, and an upcoming scripted series starring Dr. Dre. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the six-episode series titled Vital Signs, will debut all at one through Apple Music and Apple TV.
The Toronto rapper is currently preparing to release Views From The 6 in April, and is set to feature his latest single “Summer Sixteen.”
