Just one week after Lupe Fiasco announced his departure from the rap game–and more than a few months since Lil Wayne impulsively insinuated the same–The Game is also sharing his plans for retirement.
On Sunday, during a stop in Moscow on his 1992 Block Wars tour, The Game revealed to the crowd that his upcoming album (his ninth) would “probably” be his last.
He told the fans:
“When I get back to LA, I’m going straight to jail because I f–ing had a fight with a police officer and shit. So I’m gonna sit down for a minute and write my next album, which is probably gonna be my last album. It’s called ‘Westside Story,’ it’s gonna be some ill shit.”
The incident the rapper could likely be referring to stems from March 2015 when he allegedly punched an off-duty cop during a basketball game. He turned himself in to authorities in June and was arrested and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He posted $50,000 bail within the hour and was released. In December, The Game pleaded not guilty to charges filed, but a judge ruled there was sufficient evidence for him to stand trial.
