D’Angelo’s music and influence has aspired so many R&B artists who have came after. Responsible for creating a genre of soul and electric funk with Voodoo and most recently Black Messiah, D’Angelo’s unforgettable classic “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” celebrates its 16-year anniversary with a special tribute project from one of his R&B descendants BJ The Chicago Kid.

The Windy City crooner and multi-talented musician, shares a short EP with his own arrangements of some of D’Angelo’s most praised recordings. Produced by Jarius “JMO” Mozee, BJ takes his soul-take on “Always In My Hair,” “Send It On,” and of course “Untitled (How Does It Feel).”

“His musicality is beyond this world,” BJ The Chicago Kid said regarding D’Angelo via press release. “I had to celebrate his genius by paying homage to his legacy while he continues to kill the game and make great music. It’s a new year and there’s no better way to start it off than taking it back to where it all began for me. This is real ​soul/​R&B.”
