The RZA is a visionary and he’s never seen anything as bright as this idea: He would create a one-of-one Wu-Tang Clan album and auction it off to the highest bidder.
The idea was crazy, it attracted press attention and naysayers alike.
Then, it was actually sold.
Martin Shkreli, 32, won the auction, playing a hefty sum to be the sole owner of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.
It’s not the first item he’s secured; the hedge fund founder and pharmaceutical executive also owns a former Visa card of Kurt Cobain’s. Shkreli is currently embattled in a lawsuit with his former company for alleged misconduct, but in the meantime he’s perhaps the biggest Wu fan in the world.
