Oh, Azealia Banks.
As if this year didn’t return more headlines for the rambunctious rapper than one artist probably would even come into question over their entire career, Azealia Banks closes out the year with an alleged arrest of assault. No surprise.
Banks was arrested outside a Manhattan nightclub Wednesday (December 16) after allegedly biting and punching a female security guard, consequently being charged with third-degree assault and misdemeanor. What sparked the debacle? Sources say after the rapper was denied entry into a private party at the Up&Down club, she quickly resorted to “screaming at the top her lungs” and using racial slurs to the security guard.
The female security guard then attempted to remove Banks from the club, but the rapper reportedly started spitting and biting on the guard, causing her to seek medial attention following the incident. Banks was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, Page Six reports.
Wednesday’s arrest actually marks the second altercation with a security guard in recent months, not to mention her barrage of racial remarks exiting an airport and her notorious celebrity attacks. Banks has yet to comment on the matter, and at this point, it would probably be in her best interest to avoid a response at all costs.
