Exclusive: Big Boi On Outkast Reunion: 'It's For The Fans'

One half of the legendary duo broke his silence on the looming reunion at last night's Game Of Thrones party at Sundance Film Festival.

Sundance Film Festival is a place that famously sets a tone for the upcoming year in cinema, but last night in Park City, Utah, it was the TV and music-world zeitgeists that joined forces in grand fashion, when television's most-hyped program Game Of Thrones celebrated the premiere of its fourth season with a soiree hosted by one of 2014's most discussed artists: the man himself, Big Boi, one-half of the endlessly influential and now triumphantly reunited Outkast.

Outkast Announce 40 Festival Dates Throughout 2014

Now, Big Boi's not the first person who comes to mind when you think of the Starks and the Lannisters, so on the red carpet for the premiere party, REVOLT had to ask about his Game Of Thrones fandom (he then extolled his love of the show's "kings, queens, knights, lords, dragons, and all the families fighting for the Iron Throne," which was very awesome to hear).

But of course, this was a moment to focus on his much-celebrated reunion with André 3000 at Coachella, and the set of 40 festival dates they'll play together through the year.

More Stops Announced For Outkast's Major Comeback

In this exclusive interview, Big Boi gives REVOLT his first words on reuniting Outkast: "We celebrating 20 years, a milestone in our careers, and it's for the fans," he says. "It's a long time to still be doing music at a high caliber and still be doing it." Take note: Outkast are reformed, and ready to meet a new generation of fans, and it's big news everywhere from ATL to Utah to the kingdom of Winterfell.
